再过一百三十多天，四年一度的奥林匹克运动会将在北京召开。地球村的全体村民，都将派出自己的体育精英，不分疆界不分肤色不分信仰不分文化，平等地进行竞技和交流。

奥运会不仅是各国运动员的体育盛会，现在已经成为世界人民和平与友谊的象征。为迎接即将到来的这一国际和平盛会，海外华文传媒协会暨会员媒体联合发起“全球支持2008北京奥运会签名活动”。

奥林匹克精神强调对文化差异的容忍和理解。奥运会能够把世界上所有的民族，集中在同一个空间和时间内进行广泛交流并得到一致认可。通过奥运，人们摆脱各自文化带来的偏见。在这里，文化差异不是矛盾与冲突，而是人类社会百花齐放千姿万态的文化图景，是促进人们互相交流的动因，大家以世界公民的博大胸怀，去认识和理解自己民族以外的天地，不断丰富自己。

随着全球一体化加剧，高度信息化的人类社会，时空距离更小相互接触更频密，交流达到多赢成为必须实现的方式而不仅是奋斗目标。促进相互了解，为建立一个和平美好的世界作出贡献，是奥运会的长期宗旨，也是人类的需求。

奥运会是缔造“团结友谊进步和谐”国际环境的最佳平台，也是各国运动员平等参与实现梦想的竞技场所。我们希望用奥运会去消弭国际纷争，促进世界和平，而不是让矛盾和冲突影响奥运会的正常举行。

我们呼吁世界各国人民弘扬奥林匹克精神，尊重运动员的辛勤努力，支持和平与友谊的奥运会，也希望各国的运动员奥委会及政府，反对任何抵制奥运会的行为。迎接奥运，增强交流，为人类的和平与发展，贡献我们每个人的力量。请现在就签下你的名字，支持2008北京奥运会！

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are only about a hundred and thirty days away. Residents of our Global Village will send their best athletes to compete and relate with each other in equality, regardless of their nationalities, skin colors, beliefs and cultures.

The Olympic Games, which are more than major sports events for athletes of the world, have become a symbol of world peace and friendship. To welcome this upcoming extravaganza, the Chinese International Media Association is pleased to launch this global campaign and to ask all who support the Olympic Games to sign your name in support of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The highlights of the Olympics spirit include tolerance and understanding of the diversity of cultures. The Olympics are able to gather all nations of the world to mingle in one particular space and timeframe, where all peoples can identify themselves. The Olympics help to eliminate cultural prejudices and bias. The diversity of cultures, instead of appearing in conflict and contradiction, paints a picture of kaleidoscopic cultural landscapes.

It has become the impetus for people to communicate and engage in exchanges in the spirit of Global Citizenship, encouraged to learn about and understand the world beyond their own and to enrich themselves. The growing integration of the world and the advancement of information exchange have shortened the time and space between human societies. Mutual contact and communication have become more frequent. Striving for a win-win situation through exchange is a means rather than a goal. Contributions to mutual understanding and to a peaceful and more beautiful world are not only long-term goals of the Olympics, they are also human needs.

The Olympic Games are the most favorable platform to create an international environment for “unity, friendship, progress and harmony”. It is also the best arena for athletes of the world to compete fairly and make their Olympic dreams come true. It is our hope that the Olympics will help to eliminate international disputes and promote world peace. The Olympics should be able to proceed as usual without interference by other conflicts or frictions.

We call for the peoples of the world to carry on the spirit of the Olympics, respect the hard work of the athletes and lend their support for a peaceful and friendly Olympics. We also earnestly hope that all athletes, the Organizing Committee and governments will oppose any form of boycott to the Olympics.

Let us welcome the Olympics, strengthen our communication between each other, and make our due contribution to the peaceful development of human society.
